Abstract

NORDLICHT BLITZ play

Mehr Licht to Dark City. In a certain time-slot TAZ (Hakim Bey), a live coded and live played street concert enlightens some streets of Piksel Bergen by revealing its invisible Wave-Lan architecture. Transformed into LIGHT and DARK Blitzing sounds. Those are emitted by blinking Game-Console screens and circuit-bent electronic Little Trees. Players carry small sound-amplifiers on their belts. A firmware flashed Nintendo DS is running in stealth mode by constantly sensing the playground and its hooked up Little Tree (electronic Wunderbäumchen) serves as electromagnetic sniffer alliance. The Wunderbäumchen or Little Tree starts to LIGHT_UP with ultra-bright fired LEDs when held over RFID TAGs which are spread throughout the city. Based on Cabala sequences RFID-Numbers generate SOUND on the DS Light Game Console. The numbers and sounds are transferred to the new OpenLayer overlay Online Map of http://www.rfid-judgement-day.com play - performed as Black and White Satellite SOUND map. Clip on stage and street!

 Blitz-light play-gadgets consist of a flashed NintendoDS connected to a 
self etched electronic LittleTree. This combinatory machine becomes a
War driving access-scan tool to define play clouds in an aerea and an
absurd circuit board which is used to read and sonificate RFID tags found.

Concept

Bergen Borges Tertius in Calvinos Invisible City Thereminvox.

In the détournement of the Blitz war the war-chalking (introduced by the WIFI-sniffer counter culture) action of drawing game knobs with chalk on walls ENLIGHTENS the invisible architecture of the actual Blitz invasion of three kind of waves in a city: WIFIs, RFIDs and DS-Sound-waves!

In an absurde performance within the city theremin of Wave-Lan clouds players subjectively place RFID tags on walls. These knobs (RFID-Tags) literally become play- knobs for other players, if they are equipped with everday lifes consumer gadgetry, as the Nintendo DS as Wifi Sniffers - or even GPS gadgets. The  futility of this everyday-play-gadgetry bears some resistance to the wave-invasion! 

The Ludic Society play-team Bergen provides the missing link: homebrew software and fantastically ´pataboard designed electronic Wunderbäumchens.
In a workshop seminar the use and even blueprint for self-made etching and building of the tool is provided. If the etching acid does not work any more, is too old or too much used allready, then the poetic cadavre exquis of drawing with chalk on the wall for the next level players helps. The next ones will recognise the wall as part of the city theremin and see that here is a play point to use.

Each player brings a Sound piece home = to the Online Map….. which serves as tape-de-spectacle.
NORDLICHT RFID Mapping streetconcert is a live (LIVED and LIVE CODED!) concert on the street! Enplayed by a RFID street/warchalking game.
During a 6 minutes T.A.Z. (Temporary Autonomous Zone) a Sound by numbers concert with LIVE LIGHTENING effects on the street takes place!! Players can switch from one tag to the next... read several tags within one invisible cloud. this invisible city is indicated acoustically by the DS-Teremin. The DS generates LIVE Sound, according to the RFID Number. 

Players hunt/find Tags. The Tags are read by self-etched Wunderbäumchen Readers, Connected to the DS, blink and emmit LED Light when reading a Tag. //Actions of players – finding and reading tags-sneding their DS file home-to the Map generates WHITE BLITZes on the Satellite Online PLAY.

// REMAINER of the LIVE RFID STREET CONCERT Play: the ONLINE MAP as RFID soundscape player!  on the MAP all the found tags in the READING order of the players are uploaded - this means afterwards the LIVE concert is simulated over Bergen: A BLACK AND WHITE MOVIE with a virtual RFID SOUNDSCAPE concert!

  1. Insert Serial-Card
  2. Start "startLoadFirmware.nds"
  3. Switch off NDS
  4. Start "blitzplayheroIII.nds"
  5. Press A
  6. Switch on the Little Tree
  7. Level 1: click on <clouds>: Select ##=black other: white > Will be stored to LEVEL1.txt(First Entry will not be parsed !!!)
  8. Level 2: restart from Point 4. click on <place> loads LEVEL1.txt / Place Tags > Level LEVEL2.txt
  9. Level 3: click on <concert>
  10. Find RFID Tags and become Blitz Light Hero III
